Gohmert strikes again, part two.
Screwy Louie is as easily swayed as a dandelion in the breeze. Good lord, Mr. and Mrs. East Texas, how long must we endure this DeLay/Bush creation? Let’s recall the twit before he does something really stupid.
What you're not being told...
Gohmert strikes again, part two.
Screwy Louie is as easily swayed as a dandelion in the breeze. Good lord, Mr. and Mrs. East Texas, how long must we endure this DeLay/Bush creation? Let’s recall the twit before he does something really stupid.
Of all the lame-brained, idiotic, totally bizarre and absolutely …[expletive deleted] things for any Congressman to say:
We’ve been battling this socialist health care, the nationalization of health care, that is going to absolutely kill senior citizens. They’ll put them on lists and force them to die early because they won’t get the treatment as early as they need. Think Progress, Gohmert Trades Ideas With Conspiracy Theorist
Goober Gohmer has forever been nothing more than an apologist for the Republican leadership, rarely showing any backbone or original thinking, but his going on the paranoid Alex Jones show and saying something like this is an impeachable lie. Louie, you’ve gone off your rocker.
It is beyond my comprehension (a phrase I use often) how people can be so stupid. I mean, come on! There’s no other word I can use. Surely the Goober does not believe those words! If he does he is not qualified to be dog catcher, much less a Congressman. East Texas is totally screwed.
It always occurs to me that if half the things Jones said were close to being true he would have been shuffled off to Guantanamo in a black helicopter long ago. Paranoid does not quiet cut it. Just visiting Jones’ show destroys Gohmert’s credibility as a legitimate representative of the people of our district.
During the run of Jones’ show with Ghomert Jones spouted about how somebody wants to sterilize Americans. Rather than saying Jones’ words were bullpoop Gohmert just went along.
There are no more words. If people in East Texas really and truly believe this kind of foolish propaganda and support idiotic people like Gohmert then America really is doomed. America’s brain has left the building.
…and home, and cars, and travel expenses, and who knows what else, are all paid for by you. Don’t you feel happy now?
‘Yall can go to hell, I’m going to Texas!
This famous line from David Crockett finds its way on t-shirts, bumper stickers and assorted memorabilia all over the state. What would Crockett have thought if he’d known the land he gave his life for after being on it for only a few weeks would turn out to be one and the same?
The devil made them do it. (Or maybe it was me? Shute.) Sometimes the level of juvenile behavior of adults in this town is beyond belief. Well, not beyond belief, but incredible all the same. Read the rest of this entry »

The Lufkin Daily News carried a letter titled “Philosphy of intolerance” written by Dallas Pierre. Pierre is a dentist, an African American, and an outspoken member of our community. He’s not known for kind words or a willingness to compromise. This particular letter is written in opposition to the Tea Party already discussed on this site rather extensively. I hate to revisit that subject and I’m not going to directly but instead I want to use Dr. Pierre’s letter to talk about something else.
Ours is a nation divided. For some stupid reason, and I do mean stupid, people can’t seem to find a way to come together and act civil towards each other. One primary reason is that no matter who throws the first stone the recipient insists on throwing it back with more force rather than seeing where and why it came from and if a better solution than throwing rocks can be found.
Cynthia Dunbar (R – Richmond) is on the list to head up the State Board of Education. Although an outspoken critic of public schools and a woman whose own children were home schooled or attended private school she still managed to get elected to the board in 2006 in district 10, beating out Libertarian Martin Thomen. Her stated priority was to have intelligent design curriculum taught to Texas students. But this is only part of her perfidious agenda. Read the rest of this entry »
and life is making you lonely, might ought to find somewhere else to go besides Downtown Lufkin.
It’s sad. Of course it is. When our yesterdays are little more than faint memories we want to recapture them, put them in little glass boxes, adore them like jewels in an ancient crown.
For decades now the citizens of Lufkin have been trying to figure out how to put our downtown area in a glass box and keep it for good times. So many have dreamt of a renewed downtown area, a place bustling with people, children laughing and playing, lines at the movie house waiting to get in. So much money has been spent, so many businesses started up only to fail from lack of patrons. Still we dream. Still we try.
It’s a horse that’s suffering badly on this site and in the news so let’s dispense with it for now. Before we do, however, let’s consider the true purpose and possible outcome of these Tea Parties, shall we?
On the Brink of Stupidism

AlterNet has an article today titled “Is the U.S. on the Brink of Fascism?“ In it author Sara Robinson reviews the Bush years, saying, “progressives watched in horror as Constitutional protections vanished, nativist rhetoric ratcheted up, hate speech turned into intimidation and violence, and the president of the United States seized for himself powers only demanded by history’s worst dictators.” She then reviews the steps that lead to Fascism. She concludes: “we’ve arrived.”
It’s a thought provoking article but I confess I have not read it thoroughly, just skimmed through it. It’s printed and waiting for me to read later.
The idea that the United States could succumb to Fascism is a terrifying one. This form of government is inextricably linked to Hitler and Mussolini. The Italians, however, did not have the will nor the drive to become what Germany did. The only truly Faschist regime that mattered was that of Nazi Germany. This is what Americans view as Fascism. They are wrong. Robinson’s article points that out.
But America is not threatened by Fascism nearly as much as it is threatened by Stupidism. Stupidism is a form of government in which inept and greedy people take money from greedy corporations and the filthy rich to finance massive campaigns full of lies and deception, get elected by a handful of misinformed zealots because most of the citizenry are too busy playing video games or having sex to vote, and then procede to Washington to do the bidding of the corporations who paid for them and gives them lavish lifestyles while the nation itself wallows in selfish indulgence and sinks slowly into oblivion.
Nothing is more certain than America’s descent into Stupidism.
The news is filled with the most inane and farcical crap ever assembled on a printed page or computer screen. Fox News minions suck up lies like candy and then turn vile and nasty towards those they believe are enemies. The Fox Minions do not have enough sense to know they are fighting for corporations who want them to bleed just as much as they want them to succeed. The irony is entirely lost. Religious right wingers joining the Fox Minions is little different than a Jew joining the Nazi party. It’s absurd, though that word just doesn’t carry enough depth.
Sara the Bimbo Airhead Palin called Obama’s health care plan “evil” and said people would be murdered. My brother–god bless him–said he was told by some of his religious friends that since he was so disabled the new health care plan would lead to him being put to death. His friends were serious, too! East Texas’ congressman Goober Gohmert said much the same thing as I’ve written on this blog about recently.
The right wing is obviously gone nuts. Another article carried on AlterNet written by ex-right winger Frank Schaeffer said this, “There is no daylight between the Republican Party, the health-care insurance industry, far right leaders like Dick Armey, the legion of insurance lobbyists, and now, a small army of thugs. All we’re missing is actual uniforms, otherwise we now have a full blown American version of the Nazi Brown Shirts.” (Right-Wing Turncoat Gives the Inside Scoop)
I use AlterNet as a source but there are plenty of others. Stupidism is evident in almost every news source. I probably should drop the “almost.” No matter if it’s Fox’s idiotic lies, CNN’s watery prose, or a more left-slanted outlet the obvious truth is that America is a Stupidocracy.
Of course the left wing in this country are equally as screwy. They’re actually wimping out, letting the crazies from across the way get all the headlines. I’m not sure why that is. You’d think sooner or later they’d find a way to counter the dunderheaded attitudes of Dick’s Army of Fox Minions. Not so.
In the end it’s the American people who to a great extent are getting about what they deserve. They started buying junk thrown at them decades ago and wallowing in selfish indulgence promoted by greedy rich people who have gotten richer selling junk and producing entertainment that caters to the worst in humanity. Now that we’re all programmed by the Stupidocracy to think we ourselves are more important than anything, that we “deserve” this and that and the other, that nobody should have anything we don’t, that it is not good if it doesn’t give us a thrill or an orgasm, we are where they want us.
All good things must come to an end, though. When we’ve been bled dry and are slowly dying a sad and lonely death, broken, emaciated and abused, those who bought and paid for this Stupidocractic government will quietly slip away to their condos in DuBai or wherever, pour themselves an expensive drink, relax in their expensive recliners wearing expensive pajamas and never give us a second thought.
